Support for High Priority Contracts

The CARE Team is a specialist operational team working across London and the South East, established to strengthen performance on our most critical and high-risk contracts, supporting our clients’ and residents’ needs. The team is deployed where it delivers the greatest value, supporting peak demand, new contract mobilisations, and complex operational challenges that require experienced, high-impact intervention.

Overall Purpose

The Commercial Analyst is responsible for analysing and supporting the commercial and financial performance of reactive maintenance contracts. This role ensures accurate cost capture, revenue tracking, and margin management, contributing to the overall profitability and compliance of assigned contracts.

Key Tasks / Activities / Responsibilities

Commercial & Financial Management

*         Analyse financial and commercial performance of reactive maintenance works.

*         Monitor job costs, revenues, and margins across contracts.

*         Support cost control, variation tracking, and value recovery.

*         Support monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) preparation and variance analysis.

*         Process cost and revenue transfers as required.

*         Assist in monitoring application of Schedule of Rates (SOR) and pricing accuracy.

Cost Control & Value Maximisation

*         Assist with valuation of works and variation assessments

*         Monitor subcontractor costs and performance value.

Contract & Compliance Support

*         Assist with commercial audits, financial controls, and reporting governance.

*         Ensure accurate cost and revenue recognition across all assigned contracts.

Person Specification

Key Knowledge

*         Good understanding of reactive and planned maintenance commercial processes.

*         Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SOR) and pricing principles.

*         Understanding of CVR preparation and variance analysis.

*         proficient in MS Excel and finance/scheduling systems.

Key Skills

*         Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.

*         Ability to monitor and interpret financial data.

*         Proactive and motivated with good initiative.

*         Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

*         Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Key Experience

*         Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within reactive maintenance or property services.

*         Experience tracking job costs, revenues, and margins.

*         Experience working with Schedule of Rates.
Experience compiling commercial reports and analysis.
