Backed by over 110 years of combined experience and the wider strength of Axis CLC, operating from 23 UK offices and employing more than 2,500 people nationwide, we support housing providers and public sector clients with high-quality maintenance and compliance services that help keep residents safe, properties well maintained and communities supported.

 

We are looking for an intern to join our Social Impact Team, based in London Stratford for a year.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social impact and ESG within a growing organisation. As a Social Impact & Communications Intern, you will contribute to meaningful community, social value, and environmental initiatives while developing skills across communications, stakeholder engagement, and impact reporting.

Working closely with the Social Impact and Marketing teams, you will support the delivery, communication, and measurement of Axis CLC’s social impact strategy.

Key Responsibilities

*        Create and publish engaging content for internal and external platforms, translating social impact activity into clear, compelling stories

*        Support the reporting of social value activity to clients via Thrive, ensuring accuracy and timely submission

*        Conduct research and data analysis to inform bid submissions and support the development of future social value initiatives

*        Assist in tracking and evaluating the impact of social value programmes, contributing to reporting and continuous improvement

*        Represent Axis CLC at industry events, job fairs, school engagement activities, and community initiatives, acting as an ambassador for the organisation

*        Support the delivery of social media content (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram) in collaboration with the Marketing team

*        Design engaging visual materials such as infographics and flyers using tools like Canva

*        Provide administrative and coordination support to the Social Impact team, including scheduling, communications, and document management

Skills & Experience

Essential

*         Strong written and verbal communication skills

*         High attention to detail and accuracy

*         Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

*         Confident interpersonal skills, including engaging with a range of stakeholders

*         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

*         Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

 

Desirable

*         Experience with WordPress, ActiveCampaign, or similar platforms

*         Familiarity with Canva or other design tools

*         Interest in ESG, social impact, or community engagement

 

Eligibility & Requirements

*         Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree and seeking a placement year

*         GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above), or equivalent

*         Willingness to travel across the UK as required
